Wilson continues at Texas Connections Academy of Houston again this year for 9th grade like 8th grade last year. He is glad for the flexibility to work at his own pace and turn around to pet Colt whenever he feels like it!
Wilson has been drawing anthropomorphic animals recently. Every artist at some point draws a self portrait. He combined the two to do this one.
Wilson has had fun visiting lots of the lending libraries in our neighborhood called "Little Free Libraries" organized by this non-profit. We thought we should have one in our own neighborhood as well. We arranged to fund the construction if our neighbor across the street (Hank aka MH) would build it.
We thought the HOA couldn't possibly decline if it was the same paint colors as the clubhouse. That was fortuitous since Hank found the excess paint from the clubhouse under its sink! Even red for the door!
Wilson said it's been a great birthday today. Amy spent two days making him a cake that he requested, complete with "meeples": the Wheel of Enormous Proportions from the latest Jackbox Party Pack. He had Kraft spirals for lunch and supper is his favorite pizza from our favorite shop: The Godfather (with meatballs). Most of the day he built with Legos and this evening we will play Jac
Same door and same dog, different looking kid!
Today is Wilson's first day at his new, 100% virtual school called Texas Connections Academy - Houston.
This year won't be like any other and today won't be, either. Wilson put on a polo, but wouldn't need to. He'll have an entire day full of Zoom meetings. To an adult or child, Sounds Great!
Wilson tells me this is "EEVEElution" and that he inked the characters that exist while the penciled ones he only wishes exist. He was inspired by a Pokemon artwork someone did which was inspired by the Pink Floyd "Dark Side of the Moon" album cover.
Wilson has been enamored with a cartoonist lately named Jake Parker. Here is something Wilson drew in the same style based on an image he found in Google Images.
Saturday, we did a run/walk for a kid named Graeme. He lived 2.5 years, but died from a heart defect. His family raises money annually for the Children's Heart Foundation.

Wilson showed them his scar and got his photo on the board.
